A little tucked away from the main road and access by an inside lane Malabar Express has been our go to joint for some authentic Kottayam style Malyalee cuisine. I love their today’s and monthly specials. One of their go to and must try dishes is the coco chicken. I could name a number of others but I do have my platter list always handy. During the mango season, this year they had a chicken dish and that was so mouthwatering, paired with Kerala porotta or appams. (Forgot the name!!) We also had our Onam Sadhya with them this year, absolutely delicious and soul satisfying.

Visited with friends on their recommendation as they had been there earlier; Malabar Express is a must go place - both for their finger licking food and also the decor. As the name suggests, restaurant is based on a theme of train compartment and designed very well. Food is excellent too; try their fish and crab, with butter soft appam. Their crab curry is very well done. Service is quick and staff is friendly.

Malabar Express is an absolute gem for Anyone craving authentic kerala flavors. The moment you step in, the warm and cozy ambience sets the perfect tone for a great dining experience. The service was prompt, friendly, and attentive the staff made sure we were comfortable and checked in just the right amount. Now, the food simply outstanding! Every dish was packed with flavor, perfectly spiced, and served fresh. But the real showstopper was the Mutton Biryani tender, juicy pieces of mutton cooked to perfection in aromatic rice that hits every note of spice and richness. Easily one of the best I’ve had in a long time. Highly recommend Malabar Express for anyone looking to enjoy genuine Malabari cuisine with great service and an inviting atmosphere. Can’t wait to go back!

In Karama there are lots of Restaurants, but very good food with fare price is rare. Malabar Express provides me with that. Though I am not Maliyali, I often use to go there.

Myself Rema, a week ago, my husband and I visited the UAE on a 5-day tourist trip. During our visit , the best food experience we had was at Malabar Express Restaurant in Karama. They serve truly authentic Kerala cuisine, and every dish reminded us of home. The Kerala Sadhya and fish curry were simply outstanding — the best I’ve ever had! The staff were very polite, friendly, and helpful, making us feel so welcome. We also personally appreciated the chef and the crew for their excellent service and delicious food. Highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for genuine Kerala flavors in UAE!
